Diversity Awards
NEOMED is pleased to honor individuals who help promote diversity at the University and in their profession.
The following awards are given annually to deserving employees, as nominated by their peers and students.
EXCELLENCE IN DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: Staff Award
The Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Staff Award will recognize one staff member whose position and responsibilities may not be focused on diversity and inclusion but who routinely and voluntarily make diversity and inclusion a priority and manifests the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action.
The recipient of this award will receive $500 and will be recognized at the Employee Recognition Ceremony in 2024.
Applications for this award will open in the Spring 2024 semester.

The following awards are given annually to deserving students, as nominated by their peers, faculty, staff and mentors.
Community Builder Award
The Community Builder Award recognizes a medicine, pharmacy or graduate student who has demonstrated a commitment to being open and sensitive to the unique needs and interests of diverse populations. The recipient of this award will receive $500. Self-nominations are permitted. A minimum of one recommendation per nominee is required. Applications for this award will open in the Fall 2023 semester.
Pharmacy Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award
The Pharmacy Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award recognizes a NEOMED College of Pharmacy student who promotes and supports the needs, values and respect of underrepresented communities and who is sensitive to the issues of diversity and takes action to promote the ideals of inclusion, equity and community. The recipient of this award will receive a financial scholarship sponsored by Walgreens in the amount of $2500. Self-nominations are permitted. A minimum of one recommendation per nominee is required. Applications for this award will open in the Fall 2023 semester.

DIVERSITY LEADER AWARD- SPRING AWARD
The Diversity Leader student award recognizes a graduating NEOMED student who promotes and supports the needs, values and respect of underrepresented communities; who promotes, supports, and lives through the actions and personal commitments of the ideals of inclusion, equity, and collaboration, and demonstrates the value of community. The award recognizes a graduating medicine, pharmacy, or graduate student who serves as a role model for fellow students and has demonstrated these ideals throughout their NEOMED tenure. This $500 award will be presented at the student’s respective award ceremony in the spring. Self-nominations are permitted; two recommendations are required for all nominations. Applications for this award will open in the Spring 2024 semester.

WALGREENS PHARMACY MULTILINGUAL AWARD- SPRING AWARD
The Pharmacy Multilingual Award recognizes a graduating NEOMED College of Pharmacy student who is fluent in one or more languages in addition to English with an interest in community pharmacy and takes action to promote the ideals of inclusion, equity and community. The awardee should embrace diversity and promote diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus. A financial prize of $2500 sponsored by Walgreens will be presented to the recipient of this award. Self-nominations are permitted; two recommendations are required for all nominations. Applications for this award will open in the Spring 2024 semester.
