President’s Statement on Diversity
“Northeast Ohio Medical University appreciates the rich diversity of all cultures and backgrounds and is dedicated to increasing the diversity of our students, faculty and staff to ensure that our community is inclusive to all.
It is a University priority to increase the development of underrepresented students in the medical fields. This will be accomplished through innovative changes in the educational curriculum that will include elements of social determinants of health and cultural competency in health care delivery which will prepare our clinicians to serve a more diverse community. These diversity initiatives are an integral part of the University’s Strategic Plan. The leadership of the colleges as well as the efforts of our Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Diversity Council will have a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
