VITALS Series Nov. 5: Science and Leadership to Navigate the Pandemic
What have we learned since the 1918 flu pandemic? What is needed from leaders now, as science is translated into innovation?
Rajeev Venkayya, M.D. (‘91), will speak on issues of innovation, separating fact from fiction during a pandemic, and health disparities at the VITALS: Visionary Health Leadership in Action speaker series, presented in a Zoom webinar Thursday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts on what we’ve learned so far; how we can protect our patients and communities between now and when we have vaccines for all; and what we can do to prepare for the next pandemic,” says Dr. Venkayya, president of the Global Vaccine Business Unit at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
A question-and-answer session moderated by WKYC’s senior health correspondent Monica Robins will follow the NEOMED alumnus’s presentation.
