Student-Run Free Clinic at NEOMED Earns Gold Rating
A commitment to the highest standards in caring for the greater Northeast Ohio Medical University community has earned the Student-Run Free Clinic at NEOMED a 2021 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Quality Standards Program.
The mission of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics is to ensure that the medically underserved have access to affordable health care. According to its just-announced ratings, the Student-Run Free Clinic meets those standards at the gold level.
Every Saturday, free care on the NEOMED campus is available by appointment from College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy students for medically underserved residents. The student volunteers can also help patients connect with community resources for problems with housing costs, legal issues or food insecurity. Free educational materials on a variety of topics, including chronic conditions such as diabetes, are available, too.
To schedule an appointment, call 330.552.7080 or email clinic@outreachneo.org.
