NEOMED represented at U.S.-Africa summit

Determination means everything! Collaboration means everyone!

Bernhard Fassl, M.D., director of NEOMED’s Center for Global Health Innovation, was invited to attend the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit for which President Biden is hosting leaders from across the African continent in Washington, D.C., Dec. 13-15, 2022.

One of the Summit’s objectives is to better work collaboratively to strengthen regional and global health security. That aligns with the purpose of NEOMED’s Center for Global Health Innovation, which has but one goal: to eradicate health conditions in the most poorly resourced communities around the world.

During the Summit, Dr. Fassl will discuss the application of data and QI methodologies in low-resource environments to strengthen health systems.

Dr. Fassl launched the Center’s Global Health & Innovation master’s and graduate certificate. He describes the University’s immersive program as “raw and real” and says partnerships are key to its success. He hopes to share takeaways from the Summit upon his return.
