Is It Safe to Fly During COVID-19?

Itching to go on vacation as flight prices continue to drop? Experts like Richard Watkins, M.D., a Northeast Ohio Medical University associate professor of internal medicine who specializes in infectious disease, say not so fast.

Dr. Watkins advises Prevention readers to travel sparingly, noting in a recent article, “I advise against leisure travel.”

Other travel recommendations from Dr. Watkins:

  • Drive your own car instead of flying to your destination
  • If you must fly, print your boarding pass out at home ahead of time
  • Remember to use hand sanitizers after touching surfaces in the airport and on the plane
