Bio

I am pleased to serve NEOMED’s Department of Family & Community Medicine as Director of Community Engagement, and prior as the HRSA Primary Care Training and Enhancement Grant Manager. I became an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine, and Graduate Faculty in the College of Graduate Studies in 2017. I am a faculty mentor for NEOMED’s Student Summer Research Fellowship, is a member of Diversity Council, and is a faculty advisor for the Family Medicine Interest Group, OutReach and American Medical Student Assoc. In the community, I am active on University of Akron Women’s Committee, United Way’s Financial Stability Council, LiveWell Stark County Leadership, and Stark County Health Department’s Community Health Assessment and Implementation Plans. Prior, I served as Director of Service Learning at Walsh University and Evaluator of Canton City School’s 21st Century Grant, Director of Social Programs at ASCA, Program Manager at GSNEO, and was the first GAR Foundation Fellow.

Area of Expertise/Research Interests

I am working toward alleviating challenges associated with lack of education and access to resources that affect individual and community health. I manage a project that seeks to achieve the “quadruple aim” in medical education, which includes better patient and family care experiences by reducing health disparities and increasing clinical population medicine efforts. I enjoy engaging primary care providers from the neediest areas of Ohio in training to administer medication-assisted treatment.
