Campus Honored Nationally by Arbor Day Foundation

The national Arbor Day Foundation has bestowed 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education® Recognition upon Northeast Ohio Medical University. The award is made to colleges and universities “for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.”

This is the fourth consecutive year for NEOMED to be so honored.  

According to a press release, NEOMED met the Foundation’s standards of maintaining a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and student service-learning project.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a million-member nonprofit conservation and education organization with the mission to inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees.
