Airline COVID-19 Seating Policy Debated

An announcement that Southwest Airlines will unblock its middle seats, previously closed off due to COVID-19 concerns, was reported on by Yahoo Life.

The change was announced to begin Nov. 30.

Among the experts interviewed by Yahoo Life was Richard Watkins, M.D., an infectious disease physician and a professor of internal medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He said of the new policy, “That doesn’t work well with social distancing, which we know is one of the most crucial precautions one can take to avoid COVID-19.”
