NEOMED Police Sergeant Named as Hometown Hero

Northeast Ohio Medical University Police Department Sergeant Shawn Parker was recently honored for his dedication to Lake County, as demonstrated through efforts such as volunteering as a special officer for the Eastlake Police Department.

Sgt. Parker was presented the Lake County Safe Communities – Outstanding Community Partner Award for his work developing a county-wide crash reconstruction response team, offering seat belt safety classes at a local elementary school, and more — all while working full-time at NEOMED.

The annual “Hometown Heroes” event held September 12 at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio, focuses on local law enforcement, fire/EMS, military and veteran services and other organizations that serve the residents of Lake County.
