Radiology Chair Named As National ASTRO Fellow

William F. Demas, M.D., F.A.C.R., professor and chair of the Department of Radiology, has been nationally recognized by the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). On October 27, Dr. Demas and 19 other distinguished ASTRO members will be named ASTRO Fellows at a virtual ceremony during the radiation oncology organization’s annual meeting.

ASTRO is the world’s largest radiation oncology society, with more than 10,000 members who are physicians, nurses, biologists, physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists and other health care professionals who specialize in treating patients with radiation therapies. Only 366 of ASTRO’s 10,000 members worldwide have achieved the distinction of being named a Fellow.

Dr. Demas’ practice is based at the Salem (Ohio) Regional Medical Center.
