College of Medicine Students Will Join Workforce

More than 80 new physicians from Northeast Ohio Medical University will join Ohio’s health care workforce this spring.

“We know that there have been physician shortages across the country,” Elisabeth Young, M.D., dean of the College of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, told Spectrum News 1.

“We are sending out a workforce with this graduating class to really help with the pandemic,” she said.

On Saturday, May 2, NEOMED will hold a virtual commencement for its College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy and College of Graduate Studies. The College of Medicine will graduate more than 130 medical students, more than 80 of whom plan to work in Ohio.
