Searching for Clues to the Heart
Fourth-year medicine students are always eager to take a Practical Cardiology elective from J. Ronald Mikolich, M.D., who in 2018 was honored with Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Liebelt-Wheeler Award for Faculty Excellence. Now, the interventional cardiologist’s research into the diagnosis of cardiac problems by using magnetic resonance imaging is drawing attention. One key question he asked, he told a Sharon Herald reporter:
“Can we do something that is better and safer for the patients, in this case less radiation, and can we do it so it costs less with the same patient outcomes?”
