Take It from Us: Words of Advice from the Class of 2018

As the Class of 2018 celebrated Commencement, many took time during the rite of passage Saturday, May 19, to reflect on their years at the University. Newly minted medical doctors and pharmacists, as well as pharmacists who had just earned a Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration, weighed in with advice to incoming and current NEOMED students.

“Always keep an open mind and keep working hard.” – (‘18), pictured being hooded in feature photo

“Just keep working. Keep at it–you’ll have your ups and downs, but if you just take one day at a time, you’ll get where you want to go and it will all be worth it in the end.”  –Elizabeth Albers, M.D. (‘18)

“As hard as it can be at times, focus on what you’re doing right now, but also pay attention when NEOMED starts to prepare you for what’s ahead, because it comes sooner than you think. If you’re constantly focused on taking tests, you’ll miss out on the future.” –Hady Khalifa, M.D. (‘18) (pictured on the left)

“Always keep learning and be curious about the world. Keep developing yourself and explore what’s out there—never stop.” –Tina Do, Pharm.D., Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration (’18) (pictured on the left)

“Stay organized and manage your time wisely.” –Ashley Ramp, Pharm.D., Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration (’18) (pictured in the middle)

“For incoming students looking to go into this world of administration, you don’t have to necessarily have a current job in leadership or anything like that to take advantage of these opportunities and really connect what you’re learning in class with your job.” –Kathryn Carlson, Pharm.D., Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration (’18) (pictured on the right)
