The Office of Faculty Relations and Professional Development provides confidential, one-on-one consultations to address issues related to faculty teaching, assessment and curriculum development. This could include issues such as:
- Designing or revising the course syllabus
- Changing or redesigning course assignments
- Developing interactive activities
- Dealing with learner issues in classroom
- Developing course assessments and grading
- Making the most of classroom diversity
- Helping to turn your educational innovations into scholarly publications.
The purpose of the consultation is to support your role as Faculty. As part of the consultation process we will offer suggestions and ideas. However, it is your decision how you would want to proceed with the suggestions and ideas. All consultations are voluntary. All consultations will be confidential. The Office of Faculty Relations and Professional Development provides formative classroom teaching audit and customized feedback for faculty across the university. All discussions and outcomes are kept confidential; while faculty may choose to share experiences with others, our office will not. Please email facdev@neomed.edu to schedule a teaching audit.
What are “MOOCS?”
MOOCS are Massive Open Online Courses that are free and available to anyone via the Web. Our office has identified the following MOOCS in the realm of faculty development as having potential value for our faculty and staff.
College of Pharmacy Teaching and Learning Curriculum Program
The NEOMED Teaching and Learning Curriculum Program is designed for PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents in Northeast Ohio. Each participant who completes all required program activities will be awarded a Teaching Certificate from the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the NEOMED College of Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Internal Medicine with a focus in Academia Residency Program
NEOMED and the University Hospitals/Geauga Medical Center has partnered to provided a combined internal medicine and academia residency program for graduates of doctor of pharmacy program. The academic leadership rotation will expose the resident to various department, college and university leadership positions. Through these rotations, the resident will gain perspective to the various functions, roles/responsibilities, and leadership styles of several campus leaders.
