Alumni Gather to Reconnect, Share Memories and Laugh

New connections, old memories and plenty of laughs were shared during the Alumni Association Awards Dinner and Trivia Night held across the NEOMED campus on Saturday, May 21.

More than 100 guests attended to recognize the 2020 and 2021 Alumni Association Award recipients.

A particularly memorable highlight occurred when Joseph Novicky accepted the 2020 Distinguished Service Award on behalf of his late wife, Dinah Fedyna, M.D. (’82).

Doug Moses, M.D. (’95) had many words of appreciation for his family and all their support throughout his medical education and career.

The alumni and their guests were able to reminisce during a walking cocktail tour of campus, where they made stops in the Olson Auditorium and in the Giant Eagle Commons study area – which many just knew as the study carrels when they attended NEOMED. They also received a tour of the NEOMED Health Care suite, led by John Boltri, M.D., chair and professor of family and community medicine.

The evening concluded with a trivia contest, with guests participating in-person and some joining the fun on Zoom.

The winners of Trivia Night were:

  • Nadia Asif, M.D. (’19), won AirPod Pros & Firetv Cube
  • Jason Close, M.D. (‘20), won an Apple Watch
  • Shani Perera, M.D. (’17), won a Bose wireless speaker
