PGY2 Internal Medicine / Academia Pharmacy Residency
Comprehensive Training in Clinical and Academic Areas
University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, in conjunction with the College of Pharmacy at NEOMED, offers a postgraduate year two (PGY2) internal medicine residency program with a focus in academia.
This pharmacy residency opportunity is designed to cultivate health care practitioners and educators by developing:
- A strong foundation of teaching skills
- Clinical expertise
- The ability to balance practice and academic responsibilities
Residency Overview
Residents will participate in the provision of direct patient care on internal medicine teaching service, a variety of clinical stewardship programs and ambulatory care clinic. An average of one day per week is spent in an academic setting. This allows the resident to develop course directorship, faculty development and academic leadership skills.

With 226 licensed beds, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center (UHGMC) is the largest community hospital in the University Hospitals health system.
Meet the Team
Pharmacy residents report to the residency program director, Dr. Abagail Agler, who is responsible for the administration and coordination of all residency programs. Residents also work closely with their residency preceptor.
