Student Spotlight: Jessie Rupp

Categories: Student PrideOur student spotlight is P2 student, Jessie Rupp! Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Jessie has been putting her sewing skills to a great cause and making hundreds of masks and donating them to local hospitals, all while maintaining online schooling. She started taking donations for supplies and materials a couple weeks ago and and has finished over 260 reusable, washable face masks.
Jessie is hoping to double the amount made, to over 500 (time permitting because she is still working and taking classes/exams!).
“I am so grateful and honored that I can use my sewing skills to help others in this time,” Jessie told us via email. “I feel this is my call to duty as I am uniquely skilled and qualified to provide a much needed service to my fellow health-care workers and the public that we strive to heal and protect. This has been a truly humbling experience!”
For anyone interested in following Jessie’s mask creation or have any questions, you can reach out to her personally at jrupp@neomed.edu. Way to go, Jessie!
