There are several offices that reside within and contribute to the Department of Family and Community Medicine at NEOMED.
Northeast Ohio Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
The Northeast Ohio Area Health Education Center is committed to growing healthier communities through increasing the number of students and residents trained to advance community health in areas with a shortage of health care professionals and in medically underserved communities in Northeast Ohio.
Office of Geriatrics
The Office of Geriatrics works to improve the quality of life of older adults through excellence in education of students, faculty and health practitioners in northeast Ohio. Through scholarship, research, and community service, the office strives to advance the knowledge and practice of geriatrics.
Office of Palliative Care
The Office of Palliative Care was established in 2007 to provide leadership in palliative care health professions’ education. As one of only a few in the country located within a medical university, the Office has heightened the visibility of palliative care among students, faculty and practitioners.
